Sanctuary

This lovely one of a kind ceiling will be ripped out and the swamp coolers taken down. Above the ceiling, are some interesting wood beam trusses that will be left exposed. In the large rounded stage on the left of the photograph, I plan to have my monthly featured artist exhibit with some amazing lighting and an intricate mural on the ceiling. The lights in this room will remain in the building somewhere because they are wikid cool!

Floor

OK OK- I know what you’re thinking, other than “OMG she’s nuts!” you’re thinking, “Hey Jessica, that floor looks a little sloped.” You’re absolutely right. The floor is actually a ramp that was put there years ago. There is a piece of the carpet removed and you can see the plywood top. In theory—there is a “normal” 1939 floor under there and stairs that lead down from the foyer. We will be highly considering removing this gargantuan ramp piece by piece. If you’d like to help we have operators standing by to make reservations and take your credit card information.

It was build in 1939 and is 17,500 Square feet of home and art gallery and studio. I hope we can find a way to accomplish our goals and make it happen. We will see!

There it is! The front of my Art Gallery… (I hope I hope I hope).

This corner is the most destroyed. The exterior parts with all the dentil molding worries me… I have no idea how to restore it, but we can figure it out. The whole soffit needs roofed… that sucks bad, but at least it doesn’t need a whole new roof.

~This is outside the Gym in the parking lot. The parking lot has 15 spaces… WOOHOO there will finally be room for all my cars.

common area

This is the lovely common area outside the Gym with the fantabulous yellow shag carpet that smells like old people and rotting corn. Carpet is coming out and I love that I will be able to do a two tone effect to blend the upstairs with the down.

~Basketball and fancy molding go hand in hand… DUH! Anyway, we will probably get a new hoop and definitely clean up those edges.

Gym molding

I’m thinking of some clever way to accentuate the wonderful molding in this room… any ideas, please let me know.

Basketball in the house?!

This is the Gymnasium (obviously)… new floor probably and the cross beams that would hold drywall are going to be removed and the trusses will be exposed. In all actuality we will probably remove the trash and buckets from up there too. Then we will have to clean up around the molding. Ty wants to keep the stage for all his mad Rock Band concerts! The windows on the left have stained glass half rounds at the top that you can’t see too well in this pic, but they are all in good condition. I will probably also use this room for photography because of its ridiculously perfect natural light.

hidden room

This is the stained glass in that hidden room.

The hidden room

This is the little area that Ty is scared of. He thinks “bad things” happened up here. It is a hidden room that looks over the rounded featured artists’ area through some vents. I love this room… One of my favorites!
